1. Armadale Road Playing Fields, Dukinfield, Cheshire

Project – Construction of football pitch development
Client- Tameside MBC
Design- STRI

Bancroft Amenities Ltd successfully tendered to construct 3 new football pitches on an old slag tip site, which although marked out as football pitches were totally unusable in winter months. Scheme had to produce good quality free draining pitches against the backdrop of fairly poor existing top soil limited depth and a limited maintenance budget.

• Strip off top soil

• Install lateral drains @ 5m centres
• Gravel carpet 4000m³
• Re-spread top soil
• Laser grade
• Sand amelioration 800 tonnes
• Seeding works

The scheme was successfully completed ahead of schedule and the pitches now provide quality free draining surfaces which have remained in use throughout this particularly wet winter.

2. St John Fisher Catholic High School, Dewsbury

Project- levelling + drainage of school playing fields 16000m²
Client- Kirklees M.B.C.
Design- Stuart Pool Consultancy
Contract Supervisors- Aedas

This project involved the transformation of an undulating and poor draining school field into good quality free draining pitches capable of withstanding a high degree of usage. Sand slits to be introduced following establishment.

Phase 1 of the project has been successfully completed. Sand slits are to be introduced April 2007.Playing fields are due to open for use in June 2007. Phase 2 sand slitting was completed in April 2007.

3. Reigate Grammar School

Project- Construction of 6 bay artificial cricket pitch practice facility.
Client- Reigate Grammar School

The brief of this project was to transform a rubble shrewn waste piece of land into a turn key cricket practice area to match after high class facilities on site.

• Site clearance
• Install security fencing
• Import and laser grade a dynamic stone base
• Erect tubular steel netting framework
• Lay and fix shockpads and carpets
• Erect and fix netting system
• Landscaping & turfing works to surrounding areas

This scheme was completed in Summer 2008 and is now open for use providing high class cricket practice facilities.
